This year’s International BioCamp 2011 event will be held at Novartis International Headquarters in Basel Switzerland, Aug 29 - 31, 2011. Deadline for applications from Finland is May 16, 2011.

What is BioCamp?

The Novartis International Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp) is a pioneering three-day seminar that brings the biotechnology sector closer to talented students from top universities around the world. Held at Novartis International Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, the program offers participants an opportunity to:

  • Interact with key Novartis scientists who lead our unique approach to drug discovery

  • Learn about breakthrough new medicines to address patients‘ unmet medical needs

  • Understand trends and challenges in the biotechnology sector

  • Receive first-hand experience about starting and running a biotech company

  • Explore career opportunities in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries

  • Network with talented students from other countries

BioCamp provides an opportunity for a select group of talented university students to learn about the multifaceted world of biotechnology. They will gain insights into current and future challenges in the sector and acquire first-hand experience on starting and managing a biotechnology company.

Finland was represented in 2010 by Minja Nieminen (studying economics) and Mikko Myllynen (studying biosciences). Minja Nieminen was part of the successful winning team in last years BioCamp event.
