Selection process for the International BioCamp 2010 finalized. Two Finnish top students among the 60 worldwide chosen participants.
Two Finnish top students, Minja Nieminen from the Aalto University, School of Economics and Mikko Myllynen from the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Medicine have been selected from Finland to participate in the Novartis International Leadership Camp (BioCamp) 2010.

A total of 60 selected students from around the world have been chosen to participate in the International BioCamp 2010 event based on their academic record, professional experience and extra-curricular activities. The event was open for applications from university students focusing on natural sciences and/or business administration to apply.
The interest for the International BioCamp event was very high worldwide. The interest was equally high in Finland and we received altogether forty applications, all of them with very high standard!
The fact that two of the sixty worldwide participants are from Finland also clearly reflects the high standard of the applicants.
We wish to thank all the Finnish applicants for their interest in the Novartis International Biotechnology Leadership Camp 2010 and wish them continued success for their professional future.
What is BioCamp?
The Novartis International Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp) is a pioneering three-day seminar that brings the biotechnology sector closer to talented students from top universities around the world.
BioCamp provides an opportunity for a selected group of talented university students to learn about the multifaceted world of biotechnology. They will gain insights into current and future challenges in the sector and acquire first-hand experience on starting and managing a biotechnology company
Held at Novartis International Headquarters in Basel, Switzerland August 30 – September 1, 2010., the program offers participants an opportunity to:
- Interact with key Novartis scientists who lead our unique approach to drug discovery
- Learn about breakthrough new medicines to address patients‘ unmet medical needs
- Understand trends and challenges in the biotechnology sector
- Receive first-hand experience about starting and running a biotech company
- Explore career opportunities in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries
- Network with talented students from other countries
