Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp) brings together selected top students from science and business universities from across Europe.

1. What is BioCamp?

Novartis Biotechnology Leadership Camp (BioCamp) is a pioneering three-day seminar that brings the biotechnology sector closer to talented young people from the universities. BioCamp has been sponsored annually by several Novartis affiliates since 2004, and the first European BioCamp was held in Switzerland in 2007. Last year was the first time that top students from Finland were selected to participate in the BioCamp event. This year’s BioCamp will take place on August 24-26, 2009, at the Novartis Campus in Basel, Switzerland.

BioCamp is open to university students in the natural sciences and business administration. At the seminar, 40 selected students (20 from Switzerland and 20 from other countries in Europe) will have the opportunity to learn from leading biotech experts, interact with professionals and work together with other students from various cultures. The students will also be able to explore career opportunities and network with global leaders in the biotechnology sector.

Winners selected from the European BioCamp will be invited to participate in the global Novartis BioCamp on October 27-31, 2009 in Cambridge, USA.

Novartis will cover all the travel and accommodation expenses of the chosen students. The event will be held in English.

BioCamp provides an opportunity for selected group of students to learn about the multifaceted world of biotechnology. They will gain insights on current and future challenges in the sector  and aquire first-hand experience on how to manage a biotechnology company.
